Hi, I’m Dermot O’Callaghan

I qualified as a counselling psychologist from Trinity College Dublin in 2008 and have worked in child and family services since then. Currently, I hold positions as Principal Psychology Manager with Tusla - Child and Family Agency and as a Teaching Fellow on the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology in TCD. I work with young people, caregivers and families to help them develop their relationships and to cope with emotionally painful experiences. I also provide clinical supervision for practicing psychologists. I am a Level II Trained Therapist in Attachment-Based Family Therapy.

Please note that given my public service role, I do not accept referrals from Tusla or which may be funded by Tusla.

Dermot is a level II trained ABFT therapist.

I am originally from Colorado in the United States, and worked in Child Health and Development research prior to my clinical career. Hayley is a Level I trained ABFT therapist.

Our Story

Dermot and Hayley began working together in 2020. Their shared values, approach, and clinical interests led them to their joint venture, O’Callaghan Bell Psychology.

Supporting Families

We believe in the value of strengthening family relationships to buffer against the impact of emotional distress. Our aim is to work with the whole family using evidence-based treatments. By strengthening relationships we hope to empower families towards mental wellbeing.

Furthering Training

We are operating as a competency building service. Our goal is to further professional training in ABFT through our practice.
